Our Approach to Coaching
In the last three to five years coaching has grown enormously. There are many different approaches and practitioners, some offerings are very similar, others vastly different. To assist clients to make some distinctions around the type of coaching we often explain it using the analogy of playing a sport, say tennis. Most tennis players have an 'inner' and an 'outer' game. The inner game is their attitude, how and what they feel in general and on any particular day. Their self talk, the mental rehearsal they might do. What planning and strategy they think of. Their own level of confidence and their resilience (ability to bounce back when things go wrong). These attributes are all developed to a point and may vary on a day to day basis. The outer game of tennis is about fitness, speed, strength, stamina and range of shots and technique, and choice of equipment. Most serious players receive coaching and development on both the inner games and outer games. The approach we use to coaching is to first work on the inner game. What are the beliefs, attitudes and values that support you to be excellent at what you do? What is the strength of your inner game? How can we improve and build on it? Then the outer game, the skills, tools, techniques and strategies which will help you achieve your desired results.
Telephone and face to face coaching:
We offer a combination of face to face and telephone and coaching
depending on the needs of our clients. Generally it is useful to have
some face to face coaching time and to augment these sessions by some
structured telephone coaching.
Assessment points:
At the out set of the coaching program we will agree on some assessment points. This will ensure the coaching stays on track and is delivering the results you want.
Confidentiality:
Coaching is conducted on a fully confidential basis. Content of coaching sessions are not discussed with other members of the team or manager. Discussions that may take place with a manager only happen by prior agreement between all the participants.
What to expect:
After your initial enquiry we will send you more information on our
coaching process.
We will then have a more in depth discussion, at a meeting or over the
phone.
We will then design a program for you and/or your team.
We'll regularly review this to ensure we are on track.
